DICOVER SCUBA Discover Scuba is not a certifcation, but it allows you to experience breathing under water. In this course you will learn the basic skills and safety rules you need to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI professional. The course includes a thirty minute orientation, a review of five skills under water, and one shallow open water dive using the remaining air in your tank. Tanks may be added for an additional charge. This course may be counted towards a PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water certification. Participants must be at least ten years of age. All instructional materials and gear will be provided.
OPEN WATER The PADI Open Water course is the world's most popular scuba course. It is a lifetime certification and will enable you to dive to depths of sixty feet. This course consists of knowledge development, confined water dives, and open water dives. This course takes approximately four days to complete. Participants must be at least ten years of age. All instructional materials and gear will be provided. If you have already completed the initial classroom training and confined water dives, Referral Dives are available. Proof of knowledge development is required before the completion of the course.
ADVANCED OPEN WATER The Advanced Open Water course is a step beyond the Open Water Diver level. This course will consist of five dives over a period of two or more days. Dives include Underwater Navigation, Deeper Water Diving, and your choice of three or more adventure dives. Participants must have a Open Water certification and be at least fifteen years of age (twelve for Jr. Andvanced Open Water). All instructional materials and gear will be provided.
EFR In the Emergency First Response course you will learn to react to medical emergencies using primary care (CPR), secondary care (first aid), and/or care for children courses. This course takes approximately four hours to complete. All instructional materials will be provided.
RESCUE The Rescue Diver course expands your knowledge and experience level. Rescue Divers learn to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and well being of other divers. Rescue Diver training prepares you to prevent problems and if necessary, manage dive emergencies. This course takes approximately four days to complete. Participants must have a Advanced Open Water certification, be trained and current for first aid and CPR within the previous two years (EFR is recommended), and be at least fifteen years of age. All instructional materials and gear will be provided.
DIVEMASTER The Divemaster program is the first step to becoming a professional level diver. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. This course takes approximately four days to complete. Participants must be certified in Advanced Open Water, Rescue, EFR (or qualifying first aid and CPR training from another organization within the past twenty four months), have at least twenty dives to begin/sixty dives for certification, be fit for diving (a medical statement signed by a physician within the last twelve months is required), and at least eighteen years of age. All instructional materials and gear will be provided.
SPECIALTIES The Specialty Diver program takes your diving to another level. Staniel Cay Divers offers twelve different specialty courses. Specialty courses include Boat Diver, Deep Diver, Digital U/W Photographer, Drift Diver, Enriched Air Diver, Equipment Specialist, Night Diver, Oxygen First Aid, Search and Recovery, Underwater Navigation, Wreck Diver, and Project Aware Fish Identification. Courses may take one to two days to complete. Participants must have a Open Water certification. All intructional materials and dive gear will be provided. Specialty equiptment will NOT be provided.
